저는 현재 [http://www.kmu.ac.kr/ 계명대학교] [http://www.kmu-med.ac.kr/ 의과대학] [[mainpage (KR) | 인공지능 컴퓨터 진단 (AICD)]]연구실의 지도 교수입니다. 한국의 [http://www.inha.ac.kr 인하대학교]에서 2000년에 학사 학위를 받았으며, 미국의 [http://www.nyu.edu New York University (NYU)]와 [http://www.temple.edu Temple University (TEMPLE)]에서 2006년과 2011년에 석사 학위와 박사 학위를 받았습니다. 2005년에는 미국 뉴욕의 [http://catt.poly.edu/ The Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications and Distributed Information Systems (CATT)]에서 선임연구원으로 있었으며, 2011년부터 2012년까지 [http://www.sait.samsung.co.kr/saithome/Main.do?method=main&pageKind=01 삼성전자 종합기술원 Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT)]의 [http://www.sait.samsung.co.kr/saithome/Page.do?method=main&pagePath=02_research/&pageName=bigdata 차세대 인공지능 연구실]에서 전문 연구원으로 연구를 수행했습니다.
관심있는 연구 분야는 초고화질 광학 기반 암 영상 진단 연구, 딥러닝 기반 인공지능 컴퓨터 진단 연구, 다채널 바이오신호 기반 웰니스 플렛폼 연구, 그리고 알츠하이머 진단/치료를 위한 무선충전 가능한 인체삽입형 초소형 센서 등입니다. 현재 '디지털 병리 기반의 암 전문 AI 분석 솔루션 개발' (보건복지부), '유니버셜 디자인이 적용된 영상기반 비대면 진료용 의료기기 개발' (범부처전주기의료기기개발사업), '알츠하이머 치료를 위한 인체 삽입형 바이오포토닉스 전자약 연구' (한국연구재단), '산업혁신기술지원 플랫폼구축 사업 (산업통상자원부)'등의 프로젝트를 진행하고 있습니다. 이러한 연구는 국제적으로 스위스 로잔 연방 공과대학 (EPFL)의 신호처리 연구실 (LTS4), IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, 그리고 미국의 NYU와 공동 연구로 진행하고 있으며 국내 서울대학교, 연세대학교, 그리고 KAIST, DGIST와 공동 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.
2006년 [http://www.nyu.edu New York University] CATT 장학생이었으며, 2010년 KSEA 재미한인과학자협회의 장학생이었습니다. 2011년 SPIE로부터 [https://spie.org/Documents/resources/PW11-Newport-Recipients.pdf SPIE Newport Research Excellence Award]를 수상하였습니다. 또한 [http://www.elsevier.com/locate/image/ Elsevier Journal Signal Processing: Image Communication], [http://www.hindawi.com/journals/wcn/ EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking]과 같은 다양한 국제 학술지의 특별지 초대 편집장을 맡아 수행하고 있습니다.
